Cheese Knife

The Cheese Knife

The cheese knife is another one of those non-essential knives but one that can come in handy.

It's made for cheese but can be used for anything that has a tendancy to stick to the blade like cheese does.

What makes this knife different, as you can see in the image, is the markings along the blade. The indentations allow less of the cheese to be in contact with the blade at any given time, thus making it easier to be removed.

A cheese knife shouldn't be used as a chef's knife would, mainly due to the fact that the cheese knife lacks a rounded heel (see the section on the anatamy of the knife). This heel can save fingertips and serious slicing and dicing shouldn't be undertaken without one.
